Mission and About

Durable Solutions is a local non-governmental organization with a mission to make long lasting change on health and environment issues and fill a gap in the DRC development landscape by providing long term solutions to climate issues interlinked with health needs. Our health and wellbeing and our stewardship of the environment are inextricably linked. Durable Solutions has researched and developed synergistic interventions that address both health and environmental issues and have four areas of focus:

- clean cookstoves

- solar

- water and

- syntrophic agriculture.

 

Durable Solutions is a nascent local NGO within DR Congo, but has a staff with over 15 to 20 years of experience in DRC designing, implementing, and managing health and agricultural development programs in collaboration with donors, local communities and government entities. The staff is no stranger to managing consortiums and overcoming significant challenges that arise in the DRC context.
